Apple has confirmed that they have purchased the media recognition app, Shazam.
Neither party has said how much this deal was worth but according to TechCrunch, it is rumored to be around $400 million.
I would love to see Apple do what Google did with the Pixel 2. With the Pixel 2, Google is constantly recognizing music that is playing in the background for you to refer back to whenever you’d like. I really like this idea because as a consumer, you don’t have to think about it.
Either way, I hope Apple doesn’t kill the app and allows it to grow into something better that will help everyone.
